Disabled Students Allowances (DSAs) are grants that pay for the equipment and support that you may need in higher education, as a result of your disability or learning difficulty. Unlike a student loan, your DSA does not have to be repaid.
You should apply for your DSA as soon as you have applied for a Higher Education course, to ensure you get your support in place as soon as possible. Once you have confirmation from your Funding Body that you are eligible for DSA, our team can book your assessment.
Applying for your DSA:
You are required to provide evidence to your Funding Body that you have a disability or a specific learning difficulty
You must complete a DSA application form
Your DSA Funding Body will provide you with a letter to confirm your eligibility
As soon as you have this confirmation from your funding body call us or email admin@aimassessments.co.uk to arrange an assessment at a time that is convenient for you.
For students who have not yet started their course it can be beneficial to have your assessment prior to starting, to maximise the chances of your support being in place at the start of your course.
If you have any questions on the applications process, feel free to call us or e-mail admin@aimassessments.co.uk and we will be happy to help.
What your DSA can provide:
